Dr. Dhanasree Jayaram

Dr. Dhanasree Jayaram is pursuing postdoctoral research at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Lausanne, under the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship 2018/19. She holds a PhD in Geopolitics and International Relations from MAHE, for which she worked on the topic, “Military Dimensions of Environmental Security: An Indian Perspective”. She is also project leader/manager of “Climate Diplomacy”, a project of adelphi (Berlin-based think tank), sponsored by the German Federal Foreign Office. She is Project Associate/Features Editor, Science,Technology and Security forum (Manipal Advanced Research Group); and Research Fellow, Earth System Governance (ESG). She has previously held the positions of Research Associate and Non-resident Associate Fellow at Centre for Air Power Studies (CAPS) – a defence think tank in New Delhi, India – in its Energy, Environment and Resource Optimisation Programme. She received the Outreach Fellowship of CAPS in 2011, through which she published an authored volume, titled, “Breaking out of the Green House: Indian Leadership in Times of Environmental Change” in 2012. She has also been a pre-doctoral fellow at the Leiden University Institute for Area Studies (LIAS), the Netherlands (2014-15), under the Interdisciplinary Bridges for Indo-European Studies (IBIES) scholarship, an Erasmus Mundus programme.
